Well folks, we are moving. Heading eastwardly, to the plains of the midwest…ok, maybe just past the plains a wee bit. Eric was offered a job that really appealed to him, with a salary that excited him, in a location with a low cost of living and lots of fishing….so here we go. He went out there today, and starts his new job tomorrow. He will be heading back this way in a couple of weeks, where we will completely evacuate this house, load up our pod, and head out across the prairie to our new digs. We will be staying in a hotel while we house-hunt, all on the company dime.

While I hate leaving my friends and family, and the friends of the kids, and the moutains, there are some pluses:
* Jess is coming with us, so maybe a new start will do her good.
* Higher salary in a lower cost of living may enable me to cut back on my work some, thus creating much needed family time.
* We can afford a house there..and a nice one to boot..can’t wait to start shopping!
* The homeschool laws are SO easy. My dream!
* and on that note, there are TONS of homeschool groups in the area! We have already connected with a very active group and will start participating immediately. They have weekly park dates, weekly open gym time, monthly skating parties, monthly parent’s meetings, and various other activities. They all seem very nice, and Allison as already been asked to join a girlscout troop, and we have some potential playdates already tentatively arranged!
* Its in a pretty central location. Not a horrible drive from our family here, and an even better drive from our family in OK.
